Hello, lovelies! Hopefully, most of you have still stuck to your New Year’s resolutions… I may have broken one or two of mine already… oops! As it’s still winter and the crappy weather continues, I thought I would share with you my new skincare routine.
Recently, I have noticed that my skin has changed quite a lot. I used to suffer from really dry, super sensitive skin, so I would only ever use a basic face wash and moisturiser to avoid any chance that my skin would react! Now, my skin requires much more attention, (and also requires me to stop being lazy!) and many of you recommended that I try Bodyshop’s skincare ranges so I decided to drop into the store and get some help! They were super helpful and explained that I could mix and match some of the ranges to suit my skin needs!
This is what they recommended, enjoy!
Seaweed Cleansing Gel Wash – Combination/Oily Skin
This gel-based, oil-free cleansing wash helps rebalance your moisture levels and removes impurities, leaving a shine-free matte finish. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean, fresh and actually smells amazing! It’s so good at balancing my oils out and controlling problem areas like my t-zone. It does leave my skin a little red but that’s to be expected but apart from that, it doesn’t irritate my skin at all, which is a bonus!
Aloe Vera Calming Toner – Sensitive Skin
This toner primes and refreshes your skin, removing any leftover impurities that the cleanser missed. My skin feels calmer and soothed, especially after using the gel wash! However, I did notice that my skin felt quite dry afterwards, but as I always use a moisturiser it’s fine!
Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream – Dry Skin
This rich, non-greasy moisturiser protects, nourishes and locks in moisture for long-lasting hydration. If my skin is feeling particularly dry, this moisturiser is a life saver – it leaves my skin feeling sooooo smooth and lasts all day! It’s a thick cream and absorbs quickly so I find I need to apply quite a bit to get full coverage.
Tea Tree Pore Minimiser – Oily/Blemished Skin
This cream instantly smooths and mattifies skin, minimising pores, leaving skin refined and shine-free. Not only does it improve the look of my pores, it also helps reduce my blemishes AND I’ve noticed my skin gets less oily throughout the day! This might be my favourite purchase, plus a little goes a long way!
Tea Tree Night Lotion – Oily/Blemished Skin
This gel-lotion provides light hydration for blemished skin throughout the night, whilst controlling excess oils and helping fade blemishes. I never used to use any skin products at night, I just used to remove my make-up with micellar water – that’s it… now I’ve realised how important it is to look after my skin, even at night! It does leave my skin feeling quite tight and dry but I just use some of the Vitamin E moisturiser afterwards. The smell of tea tree is also quite strong but it’s a really good product so I can see past that!
I know that I can’t just rely on products to improve my skin, so I am also making a conscious effort to drink more water and eat healthier! But so far all of these products are working well, I know it can take up to 8 weeks to notice all the benefits of new skincare products so maybe I’ll do an update in a few weeks! Fingers crossed I get great skin soon!
p.s. what skincare products have you been loving recently?
